9 May – Prometheus Caves near Kutaisi (Georgia)

The pictures will speak for them selves. We walked through the cave, rode a little boat on the river through the cave to the outside then had a ride on a little ;train’ back to the starting point. The caves are 20 kilometres long, discovered in 1984 and partially opened to the public in 2011. However the local people had known there was a cave there, but not the extent of the cave, as they used to hide there from invaders in the past. We  were told to use our imagination when looking at the stalagmites and stalactites to see what they could look like.
